Killings of black people less likely to lead to arrests than white victims

The Post has mapped about 55,000 homicides in major U.S. cities over the past decade, and in almost every city, fewer arrests were made in the killings of black people. That lower arrest rate fuels a vicious cycle: It deepens distrust of police among black residents, making them less likely to cooperate in investigations, leading to fewer arrests.
