Record rain causes at least 11 deaths, leaves thousands powerless

Florence is moving at a crawl deeper into North Carolina, spurring warnings of flash flooding in parts of the Piedmont and landslides in the state's western mountains. The storm has dropped 30 inches of rain and threatens to bring more.
