Storm crawls through the Carolinas, pushing some rivers to the brink

The National Weather Service put a flash flood watch in effect for North Carolina's New Hanover County, which includes Wilmington, and said two of the state's rivers are in "major flood" status and rising. Officials warned floodwaters are potentially contaminated, with concern that rains could send manure from thousands of "hog ponds" in North Carolina into waterways.
