U.S. Embassy siege in Baghdad ends after supporters of Iranian-backed militia withdraw

Diplomats trapped by the assault expressed relief as supporters of the Kataib Hezbollah militia left the embassy perimeter and the Iraqi army said it had taken full control of the area.
