As Israel-Hamas conflict roils, Blinken offers qualified support for cease-fire

For days, the United States, has blocked efforts to move the U.N. Security Council to make a statement, including a call for a cessation of hostilities. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States was ready to "lend support if the parties … seek a cease-fire."
